ASSISTÊNCIA SOCIAL E O CUIDADO DA PESSOA IDOSA NA ATENÇÃO PRIMÁRIA À SAÚDE: relato de experiência

Abstract

Introduction: Aging brings physiological, biological, and social transformations to the individual, requiring health professionals to guide care to promote active and healthy aging. Regarding the performance of the social worker in this perspective, his gaze must be attentive so that his rights are enforced, and the elderly person can access the necessary care. Objective: to report the experience lived by a social worker, in the development of a multiprofessional residency in family health, in the care of elderly people in the area covered by the family health strategy service (HSS), in an activity called “PIT-STOP SAÚDE”. Method: descriptive study, of the experience report type, on the experience of a social worker in the care of the elderly in an HSS. Results: the development of the activity called “PIT-STOP SAÚDE” brought an increase in the demand of the elderly for assistance in the HSS, an expanded view of the social worker regarding the importance of home visits for the recognition of the social vulnerability of the elderly and clarification of the elderly regarding their rights in the development of the educational activities developed . Conclusion and implications for practice: the activity developed in the multiprofessional residency proved to be an important tool for socializing and capturing users, promoting active and healthy aging for elderly people assisted in a family health strategy unit, in addition to promoting learning active participation of health professionals and the social worker of a multidisciplinary residency in family health.
